Why Self Actualising is a Good Buffer for Stress

Finding it hard to help others develop Self Actualising traits? Do you (or those you coach) wrestle with imposter tendancies or a harsh inner critic? Join Justine Farrington for this Connect & Learn session to explore how the Self-Actualising style strengthens confidence, enhances wellbeing, and provides a powerful buffer against stress. Together, we’ll unpack the continuum of Avoidance ↔ Self-Actualising and discover ways to move toward greater self-assurance and authenticity.

In this session, we will build an understanding of the key components of the Avoidance and Self Actualising styles, and reflect on how Self Actualising behaviours support growth, resilience, and thriving under pressure. We will explore practical exercises to help people clarify what truly matters and align their energy with it, while identifying what you and your clients can do more of and less of to quiet the inner critic, enhance confidence, and strengthen Self Actualising behaviours.

Understanding the neuroscience behind human interaction can transform the way you lead, coach, and collaborate. Join Justine Farrington and Carina Hull for this Connect & Learn session exploring how the SCARF Model — Status, Certainty, Autonomy, Relatedness, and Fairness, helps us understand the social drivers that influence motivation, trust, and behaviour.

In this session, we will unpack the five domains of the SCARF Model and how they shape our reactions to change and feedback. We will reflect on how to use SCARF insights to create psychologically safe, high performing environments, and explore practical ways to influence constructively by balancing challenge with support. We will also identify simple strategies you and your clients can use in practice.

How do you show up when the stakes are high, opinions differ, or tensions flare? The LSI Conflict Tool helps you pinpoint your default influencing style in conflict—and shows you how you can shift toward more constructive behaviours. Join this session with Carina Hull and Justine Farrington to explore your LSI Conflict profile, uncover patterns in how you influence, and build more effective, resilient approaches to differences

In this session, we will introduce the principles and dimensions behind the LSI Conflict Tool and reflect on how your influencing style shows up under stress and tension. We will practice strategies to shift toward more constructive influence under pressure and build approaches for framing conflict as a pathway to better outcomes.

Payoff vs Tradeoff of being ‘Purple’

Ever wondered why some leaders appear highly effective on the surface — yet still feel stretched, stressed, or stuck beneath it? Or operate well when leading a team of ‘high performers’ but not so effective an engaging and empowering those more people orientated? In LSI terms, being ‘Purple’ represents a blend of Constructive and Aggressive Defensive (Task Orientated) styles. This is often a fast paced, intense space where strengths and stress may coexist.

Join this Connect & Learn session to unpack the payoffs and tradeoffs of being ‘Purple’. Together, we’ll explore how mixed styles show up in real-world behaviour, how they impact relationships and performance, and what’s required to move towards a more consistently Constructive approach.

In this session, we will:

– Understand what ‘Purple’ means through the lens of the Life Styles Inventory™ (LSI)
– Explore the pitfalls of overly focusing on task orientation and the risks of misattribution
– Reflect on the advantages and limitations of balancing Constructive and Defensive styles for high performance, resilience and satisfaction

Deep Dive into Competitive / Approval Bowtie

Ever found yourself chasing gold stars and applause at the same time?
You need to win and be liked for it. Or you have to prove yourself and need others validation.

The shift is away from genuine satisfaction to chasing extrinsic rewards and validation, rather than drawing confidence and worth from within.

Bow ties are characterised by primary and secondary styles that are both defensive and directly opposite one another. The Competitive and

Approval combination is a common bowtie that reflects the strong need to prove self and win the approval of others by striving for recognition,
acceptance, and attention.

The internal dialogue or self-talk underpinning this bow tie can be exhausting: ‘always has to be right’, ‘constantly comparing self to others’,
‘expects to be admired by others’ and ‘really doesn’t want to disappoint others’.

In this session we will:

– Understand the characteristics of this ‘bowtie’ and share experiences of where we have seen it play out
– Share payoffs and tradeoffs of this combination – compromises trust, impact of self esteem and the costs
– Explore tips and tricks to move more into a more constructive and intrinsically motivating space

Coaching Through a Neurodiverse Lens

Join Clinical Psychologist Dr. Kirsten Davey and Carina Hull for an open conversation about neurodiversity — what it is, what it’s not, and how it shows up in coaching.

We’ll explore ADHD, autism, and other cognitive differences, and what coaches need to keep in mind when supporting neurodiverse clients. Bring your questions — there’ll be space for discussion and practical insights.
